2021 ARPA-E Energy Innovation Summit

Keynote Speaker Dr. Shannon Bragg-Sitton
Manager, Systems Integration, Idaho National Laboratory

Bragg-Sitton PhotoDr. Bragg-Sitton is the Manager of the Systems Integration Department within the INL Nuclear Systems Design & Analysis division, NS&T Lead for the INL Laboratory Initiative on Integrated Energy Systems (IES) and INL Lead for the Tri-Laboratory Consortium among the DOE applied energy labs.

Shannon directs the DOE-NE IES program. IES designs will coordinate the use of multiple clean energy generation sources – e.g., nuclear and renewables – to meet both thermal and electrical energy needs. Within the IES program, Shannon also serves as Director for the Joint Use Modular Plant program.

Shannon previously served as Technical Area Lead for the DOE-NE Microreactor program, Deputy National Technical Director for the Advanced Fuels Campaign, and Deputy National Technical Director for the Used Fuel Disposition Campaign. Before joining INL, Shannon was an Assistant Professor of Nuclear Engineering at Texas A&M University and a researcher at Los Alamos National Laboratory and NASA Marshall Space Flight Center.

Shannon holds a B.S. in nuclear engineering from Texas A&M University, a M.S. in medical physics from University of Texas at Houston, and a M.S. and Ph.D. in nuclear engineering from University of Michigan.
